Liberty High School offered me a tremendous environment to thrive within academically, artistically, and socially. I felt incredibly lucky to attend high school at this campus and be actively involved in their amazing drama department. I held numerous positions in this club and participated in over 16 different productions which not only fueled my drive to create beautiful things but to connect with others as well and see the value in art and in fostering empathy with one another. This school prepared me for my college coursework by offering me a rigorous curriculum and enough AP courses to jumpstart my college career by a full year! The community was diverse and vibrant and offered multicultural education and engagement through festivals and community service as well which was highly emphasized on our campus. Though the staff could have been more personal at times and less focused on merely sports activities, overall my experience and education attained at this school was excellent.

The student population is large, so there are many activities and a wide range of clubs to participate in. The academic opportunities are diverse, with several AP and Honors options. Finally, the faculty are friendly, helpful, and well educated, so the students graduate prepared for college. I am so proud of my accomplishments at Liberty High School, and I feel confident entering the university of my choice. I have already been accepted by three that I applied to a few months ago. It is exciting to have so many options!
I would like to see more celebration of diversity at Liberty High School. The population is widely white, and I have seen first hand how someone of color may be treated differently than a white student. I say this from a place of white privelage: it's outrageous. I would also love to see a deeper appreciation of the arts here. Liberty High boasts a large emphasis on sports competence; which often allows for the arts programs to become overlooked, or neglected. The teachers and academics are good, however I have experienced better. Many of the teachers are wonderful; however, as there would be anywhere, some are not so great. I think the whole student body could benefit from more emphasis on mental health. The pressure of grades and extracurriculars can be so overbearing that it can drive a student mad. If the staff were to value, and teach us to value, our mental well-being, I think that our collective performance in academics and extracurriculars would drastically improve.
