Big Things Happen At The Little School In The Woods
Nestled in the Oak Openings region Lial Catholic School has been educating children, Pre-K through 8th since 1972. There is no other school like Lial. It is a beautiful blend of traditional and Montessori practices with faith at the center of everything we do. A day would not be complete without leaf pile jumping, sledding down the meadow hill, or building forts in the woods.
At Lial, prayer and play go hand in hand. You won't find a single desk inside Lial classrooms. Instead, community tables are used to promote genuine conversations and collaboration among peers. Learning is an on-going process. Lial's multi-age classrooms allow students to move through the curriculum at his or her own pace growing in self-confidence as they do so.
United in partnership with our parents Lial helps children grow into the people God intends them to be. We invite you to join our family.

Lial Catholic School Reviews
The school does a great job at meeting the kids where they are academically and socially. Walking the halls you can see kids are engaged, motivated and are able to work independently.
When visiting the school for the first time, it caught our attention that kids were respectful in their interactions with adults and peers and now we can see it was an accurate reflection of their day-to-day reality.
The involvement of parents is a welcome difference vs other schools. Lial is definitely one of a kind!
We love the Montessori approach while still having a Catholic school environment. My oldest gets the extra help she needs across all subjects while my younger daughter receives extra work to fill her eager mind. I only wish I could have made the switch sooner. The community feeling with family involvement on the daily was also a huge draw for us. The school has so many sport and social programs to keep the kids busy and out of trouble! The parent association is highly active and always planning a way to raise money for our kids to grow. I love just pulling down the beautiful street and enjoying campus everyday!
