It is overall a good school. The teachers teach with good intentions and try to prepare their students for college. Often times, students are pushed to their limits in many classes to test their knowledge. However, school is not all about academics. Schools should have a strong foundation in communicative skills and life resources. In these areas, Lexington High School does not act as a strong preparatory college program. The focus of everything seemingly revolves around academics, which should not be the primary focus. There are many areas of life/college that this school does not prepare student for. This includes, communication skills, resumes, college applications, morals, and much more. The faculty and staff often times react to students which often times can be a bit radical and unnecessary. Students are at times treated as if they are not responsible enough to take care of themselves even when they are fully capable of doing so.
Overall, Lexington High School provides a vast amount of opportunities for all attending students. The academics were stellar because of the various classes they offered. Each course was taught by teachers who truly cared for their students and were interested in helping teach them and push them towards the next step in their life. To briefly mention the extracurricular activities, the athletics are just another piece of excellence encompassed at Lexington. Clubs were formed and student based to accommodate the student body in every aspect. Even though the school is a little old in comparison to surrounding schools, this in no way diminished my experience at the school. In conclusion, Lexington High School has further pushed me to the next step in my life and will leave a life lasting impact upon me.
