Leopold is an excellent place if you are a student who enjoys a close-knit environment and a busy schedule. Students are expected to perform at a high level in all areas, whether it be academics, sports, or extracurriculars, and this has proved to be the "fire" for some students and the undoing of others.

The lack of funding makes it difficult for the school to keep up with basic educational functions, such as reliable wifi (the Internet usually doesn't work about six days out of the month), facility repair (the bathrooms flood when it rains, constant issues with heat and air, etc.), or extracurricular support.

As for diversity, the rural location of the school causes most of it's students to become very sheltered, and, as a result, close-minded. The entirety of the school population is Caucasian, conservative, and Catholic, and anyone who deviates from that norm is often met with some pushback.

My experience at Leopold High School as a student was very enjoyable as it was a comfortable learning environment. I was in a graduating class of just twelve students, which provided many benefits to me throughout my learning experience. One of the biggest advantages was the large amount of one-on-one learning I received individually from my teachers. Also, Leopold High School was a safe environment, and the school is located on the same street as where I celebrate my religious beliefs at St. John’s Catholic Church. One negative thing I experienced at Leopold High School was the fact that I received little recognition for my abilities as an athlete since I was in such a small, isolated school. For the most part, I had a great experience at Leopold High School.
The school is small, so most everyone is close and friendly. The teachers genuinely care about the students and want to see them succeed. With such a small school, there's not much leftover money from state funding to update things like computers, textbooks, etc. However, it humbles the students and makes everyone appreciative for what they do have. Our school is able to have activities that are friendly competition between classes, which gives the school a more familial view. Since there are fewer students, clubs struggle to gain enough members, but our students always make it happen and never complain when they have multiple activities taking up free time each night. Sports are a highlight at my school, and so sports seasons were always memorable for everyone. This school is also unique because of the support behind it. Every family is involved in some way with the school. Local businesses love to support school functions and many people attend them. There is an enormous amount of love between the community and the school, and that makes it special in so many ways.
