The teachers are so involved with their students and establish personal connections, making sure that their students feel safe, happy, and motivated. They use a mixture of technology and hands-on teaching techniques that allows for students to have experience using all types of technology and programs while still having that sense of seeing and using equipment for themselves, in real time. The drama club puts on a performance every year, involving students from all parts of the school. Students from every grade participate in the performance itself, the art club constructs backdrops, and the music program lets them borrow personal microphones for the leads. In fact, people from all over the town are involved. The whole drama program is a chance for everyone to gather together and it allows for a really fun weekend of performances!

LHS is a great school but is lacking in certain areas. The school is not diverse is any sense, the introduction to nonwhite culture is very minimal (usually only introduced in foreign language classes) which seems to be caused by the overwhelming white student population.

Many teachers are amazing people and great at teaching, but there are some who don’t make an effort to truly make a connection with their students and they are too focused on finishing the current unit and moving on. This usually causes students to fall behind and not use their true potential which is sad.

Leicester High, in my opinion, prepares students that are motivated for college and are taking advanced classes. However, students who are not taking a rigorous class schedule and are not super motivated at school are usually pushed aside and don’t receive the same energy or attention. Which in my opinion should be receiving more of the attention and help since they need it more than most of us
Leicester High School was not as bad as I thought it would be when I entered in 8th grade. Because we are a very small district with limited resources, we do not have all of the latest technology or learning opportunities that larger districts have. Instead, the school did invest on Chromebooks, smartboards in some classrooms, Google classroom is used by most teacher. WiFi in the school is spotty at best and is slow.

I have rated the teacher score a 3 since there are some good and some are iffy. My STEM teacher is my favorite faculty member of the school.

We have more sport teams than clubs. If you are not interested in sports, there are limited activities.
