Totally not organized- do not feel my child reached their full potential. This is my second child passing through this school. I can not wait for this chapter to me done! The staff is an ever changing revolving door. The safety is major concern- always fights, threats, etc. The school is extremely unorganized and after years of the same thing you would think they would have learned. Do better Leesburg High school. Our students, community, staff, parents all deserve it.
The school in itself os very well rounded. There are many opportunities to be great, and offer plenty of AICE classes as a chance to gain college credits. However, the administration fails to expand programs that are not directly college oriented. For example, the Career and Technical Education courses are not ran at the standard they should be, and overall the CTE courses offered are limited to only a few. There are also a lot of students who seem to not care about their own future, by skipping classes and constantly disrupting teachers which makes it harder for students to actually learn.
One of the best parts of lhs is the understanding of most teachers, there are many opportunities to succeed, many programs. The bad part of lhs is the influence it has over most students, alumni that have had a perfect track record can get lost easily in addictions, teachers see what happens and they don't help control the problem which causes it to helplessly expand. A lot of students are belittled by their own teachers, they get put down in front of their classmates. Most people who have heard of lhs and it's reputation say that the problem is the students that attend but in reality it's the faculty instead of making it a safe place for their students they create a unhealthy environment. High school is the most important years for many people, many say it's college when in reality it's high school, what you do in high school will define you for the rest of your life regardless what people say.
