I’ve really liked spending the last 4 years at LSW! I think the teachers are great, and the building is really nice. I also like the counseling center resources like college prep help and graduation requirement meetings, but I wish I would’ve known about them sooner. There is tons of school spirit, which makes for a fun environment. The student body numbers are getting too high, so the hallways are crowded, and there are classes in mobiles which are inconvenient. There is also a lot of favoritism as far as which sports and/or people get recognition for achievements. Overall, West is a great school, and I feel prepared for college after going there.

I moved to Missouri and started attending this school at the start of sophomore year and they were really accepting of me. Everyone helped me out and was very nice. Being interested in science, I took many of their challenging science classes and they pushed me beyond my limits and did make me think harder than other classes. The teachers were also very helpful and did anything they could to help me succeed. With this, I did start clubs at my school, and some of the teachers that were sponsoring my club and overseeing did not help. I would email them and visit with them to discuss ideas and other things but many of them failed to help when it came to extracurriculars, which I did not like. I would love to see more involvement on the teacher's side when it came to helping their students with things not related to their course work, but rather outside activities and interests.
I really like the campus of Lee's Summit West and the dedication of the teachers to get the students to learn as much as they can. Lee's Summit West is a blue ribbon school and is known for their excellent academics and sports. The school is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. I am a senior at west and so far I have loved all of my teachers and found all of the information I have learned to be very useful. Although LSW is a great school, I would like to see it gear more towards education than sports. Lee's Summit West is very involved in the success of our sports teams and I think that if we used that motivation more in the classroom, our school would be even better!
