A great school for academics, but some of the kids are not the best and are distractions. If they need credit they tend to stick them in a class and honestly gave our class fewer opportunities. BUT most of the teachers are amazing and so are the classes!
The International Bacculaureate program has some of the best teachers I’ve ever had. This school also features an art program, with equally good mentors. The staff, class-wise and support-wise such as those in guidance, continue to strive for excellence and provide top service to the students they truly care about. The diverse clubs and other miscellaneous after school activities are friendly and easy to join, many which are able to coincide with each other. Finally, the two-story architecture gives allowance for a roomy campus but with close proximities to classes from any given point.
Lecanto High School is as you'd expect coming from a small, almost rural like area. The best aspects to this school, in my humble opinion, are the memories you make with great people, and how hard the teachers try to give you a good education despite the clear underfunding and already difficult school system. I can say, without a doubt, that the halls of Lecanto High have held some of my most cherished memories, some of my most beneficial teachers, and has paved the road to college quite smoothly with the added help of a magnificent IB and AVID program! If it were up to me and on a scale of 1-10, I'd give Lecanto High School a solid 6/10 from a 4.0 student's perspective; a great foundation, but definitely needs some work.
