Great concurrent offerings, they had classes that transferred to 4 year universities and to tech schools. Some programs allowed students to leave high school with certifications. Staff is willing to help out students.
Le Mars high school has always been good for academics although they spend a lot of money on athletics. The academics have always been amazing and have gotten so many awards. The teachers are amazing with students and will work with them.
A great environment with even better people! The town is clean, safe, fun, and caring. It is a great place to raise a family! The community supports each other at all times. I have never been in a better town!
I like how the teachers are very kind and always willing to help the students to better understand the material. One thing that I think could be improved is I would like to have a greater variety of college level classes available while being an underclassman
Le Mars was supportive and offered lots of opportunities, but I felt that it wasn't very strong in the science department. The community around the school is strong, though. I think the teachers are dedicated and helpful for the most part. I wish the school offered more diverse language classes, though I understand that Spanish is the most practical language to learn. I also wish there were more classes offered in general. The middle school has an advanced English program, but the high school doesn't, so all the advanced kids get dropped back into the regular English class and have to review things they have already learned. I wish students had more say in the classes they get to take so they could mold their schedule to their interests (within reason, core classes are important).
I have made so many great memories and many friends and I would not ask for a better school and better teachers.
Everyone is always ready to help with any problems you may have. They will always be there for you when you need them and the staff is great they will always try to make sure you are having a good day. The students are great they get along with who is in their class. The sports are perfect they are well organized and have everything needed to get as much practice in as possible, and this year the school is getting a new track and football field so that is gonna be really nice and updated.
Le Mars Community, a place to call home. LCHS gave me an education that was at a very prestigious level compared to surrounding schools. This helped me challenge myself and improve my ability to learn.
Strong music department in band and choir. Numbers in orchestra declining. I feel that I am prepared to attend college next year. Minimal guidance from the counselors senior year. I would have liked more involvement. Strong drama and speech department. I feel safe in school and feel most students respect their teachers. School is getting a new football stadium that includes a new track which will be great for the school. Strong music boosters that are involved with the music programs.
I liked how close of a community it was. I enjoyed being in a big enough school where I had different people in my classes, but I still knew everyones names.
I really like Le Mars High School. The teachers were awesome and very helpful with any questions about my classes. I love the fact that there were all kinds of extracurricular activities available to the students. The music/speech activities were just as important as the athletic activities. And the school is very successful in all activities.
The school had a lot of great things to offer academically and extracurricular activities. One thing I would like to see change would be the amount of college classes offered at this school.
Le Mars is a small town so the school has lots of favoritism and too much parent involvement. I do not feel like I am being prepared for college, but there are a select few teachers who are amazing.
The teachers are always trying to help the students. The Coaches are willing to spend extra time with the athletes. No one is excluded.
When I moved to the community they gave me a buddy that would shoe me around and introduce me to people. It was very easy to make friends. The teachers are fun but some are blah.
Great music program. Horrible lunch program since the switch to healthy choices. Kids toss quite a bit of the food given vs. eating it. More are going out to eat for lunch.
I love the music and speech programs. I would like to see more respect given to those programs. I would also like to see the sports program have less of an ego and more respect within the program overall.
