My experience was pretty ordinary. It offered me a very good middle school experience. The school has very good teachers. The one thing that needs to be worked on is lunch. To get your lunch you have to get a cone on your table. Although it is said that its always random, there are always some kids left with 10 minutes to eat. Also the lunch period is only half an hour long. The transition from an hour break to only a thirty minute lunch break was difficult. Another thing that needs to be improved are the bathrooms. Overall its a great school. Lots of fun trips, projects and teachers. 7th grade is the hardest year, since the workload starts to increase, and deadlines move up, but by Christmas you get used to it. In 8th grade, the beginning of the year is work. But towards the end, we go on fun trips, and focus more on celebrating the last days at that school. LCJ truly provided me with an enriching education, but nothing can be perfect!
I had a fun and average experience here at LCJSMS. I like some teachers and some staff. But there are many teachers that just don't care. I had teachers who I asked for help multiple times, they did nothing. I had counselors who I asked for help for many things, they did nothing. At this school, there is also no diversity. There is a large group of Hispanics, but they separate themselves from others. There are many instances of teachers just not helping out a Spanish speaking student, and really just watching him fail because he doesn't understand. Also at this school, there have been many instances of racism and anti-Semitism. There have been swastikas been drawn in the bathrooms multiple times. Students saying the n-word as a '' joke''. Overall this school is great for academics and sports, but for other things like teachers, diversity, and administration, it is not very good. Overall I had an average experience at LCJSMS
Overall I think the middle school is excellent. The teachers are helpful, the school is very inclusive, and there were plenty of opportunities for every student to get involved. In the future I think the schools could work on their anti bullying program. I understand that kids will be kids and bullying is inevitable, but it would be great if the school could set higher expectations for child behavior.
