They did not count any of my sophomore credits since I moved from my previous school before the start of the second semester. Tried to cut all the credits I took where possible. An example is they cover less math than my previous school but refuse to count my previous semester as credit even though they were covering the same subjects and units. As a result I am missing 0.1 of math credits. The same things happened to my other subject such as social studies and fine arts. Seems to me like they're just pushing students to purchase more courses through these methods of not crediting them properly and using the excuse of it is their system. Teachers only have to spend 2 hours a day online monday-friday. Tech support is also trash, took them 4 days to resolve issues with my assignments as I was not able to turn in the assignment. The college prep is basically non-existent, you read it on your own and there is nobody giving you personal consultation yet they pride themselves in that.
I have had my niece for the last 2 weeks, helping her complete the myriad of assignments that are Middle school and High School level assignments. There are typos and mistakes in nearly every single lessons she's given. She receives little to no support from the school itself and, even though she has A's and B's in her classes, they're threatening to mark her incomplete and hold her back if she doesn't make up a few of her missed assignments. My sister had to pay an extra $1000 on top of the nearly $10k tuition in order to have an extension.
The tuition and expectations far exceed the value. I completely get why they don't have reviews available on their own page that they don't control entirely - if honest reviews were allowed, they'd be closed! You'll have better luck homeschooling your children with curriculum that you vet and choose. It'll save you thousands.
With Laurel Springs - YOU are the teacher, the support, the ONE and ONLY support structure for your child.

I am a public school teacher in Tampa FL. I just had a student transfer in with all A’s and a few B’s. According to our state standards, she will not pass the writing test and will receive a C in reading. You can laugh all you want at FL state standards, but Laurel Springs does not even come close to what we are teaching in FL.
In our search for a suitable 9th Grade curriculum we tried out Honors Biology at Laurel Springs. And although the curriculum and teacher were acceptable, we weren't as happy with the price point for what was provided. The teacher was nice and prompt at our inquiries. We decided to try Florida Virtual offered by our state free to us as residents. To our surprise the curriculum for Honors Biology through Florida Virtual is the exact same curriculum (WORD FOR WORD). Feeling Duped and Laurel Springs should be ashamed. Before starting segment B we requested a refund and they refused.
Laurel Springs is great IF you don't care about teacher taught or lead classes, or anyone helping your student even ensure they are passing or understanding the material. You basically get access to videos and reading with various teachers 'open classroom' time you can go to. Our experience has been poor in that the times teachers are available don't fit our schedule (9 pm, for example for a math teacher) and then the few times we have tried to go to this 'open class time' for a different grade level teacher, the teacher hasn't been there. We have also had poor response times when we do reach out to teachers (6 days later a math teacher responds). This school is good if you want VERY VERY hands-off, and VERY VERY independent study with no guidance at all. If that's what you are looking for, this is it.
Though the teachers here are kind and seems to care about every student, I cannot recommend this school. I have been studying here for two years now, and there are too many frustrating aspects in the learning process.
1. Mistakes in the assessments. Quizzes sometimes cover topics that haven't been in the lesson. Some questions have no right answers.
2. The teacher feedback is lackluster and you have to contact them to get a more in-depth one.
3. No cohesion in the support system. One time, I had an issue with the technology. I contacted the tech team, who promised to get it fixed as soon as possible. A week later, the problem wasn't fixed, and I got an email from my teacher saying my work was late.
Once again, the teachers are kind, but with the way things are, I cannot say I'm satisfied.

I tried chemistry and French at this school. The chemistry teacher would occasionally email me if I was left behind and would help, but the only email I received from the French teacher was that the semester was going to end soon. I felt that the course is a bit rushed for both subjects and is quite repetitive. The French course was the same for every single task, and I was given vocabulary, quiz, then a fill out quiz, writing, oral quiz, then a multiple choice quiz. The chemistry one was a bit better; however, the explanations for every unit is quite poor. The biggest problem I had was the end of semester exam, I had finished every activity, but the teacher didn't mark many things by the deadline. So I couldn't access the final exam when the semester ended, and I emailed the teacher, but she told me that I had to call student services instead to extend the course.
