The BIGGEST plus is that the teachers at Lassiter really care if the children learn and they make efforts to make it interesting and challenging. One of my kids was highly involved in band, and I DO recommend this avenue for any child who wants/needs an instant place to belong. I found the academics to be rigorous but not impossible, and we had an overall positive experience at this great school!
Lassiter High school is a wonderful school. There are copious amounts of opportunities for students of all kind. Whether one has a learning disability, special needs, or the just the average student, Lassiter caters to all student needs. From pep rallies to every club you can think of, Lassiter has it. LOL, Languages of Lassiter, is a club for all students to learn and engulf themselves into different cultures through food! This is just one of many inclusive clubs, They offer Gay-Straight-Alliance club, DECA, NHS, and more! The faculty does a great job of helping students with different learning styles and offering help/study sessions.
My experience at Lassiter was really good. When I hear people I know that go or went to a different high school they have a lot of negative things to say about the teachers, the students, or the school in general. However the teachers were really good at Lassiter and wanted us all to succeed and were always willing to help the students, including me when I didn't understand something we were learning. The students were also nice for the most part and it was easy to make friends. Other than the bathrooms being messy, the rest of the school was a good environment to be in. I've only been out of high school for a few months, but I already miss it.
