I like Las Cruces High School because it gives more opportunities than other schools I've been to. They take the time to regularly inform students about what they need to do to prepare for their next step in life by ensuring everyone knows what they need to do. They also allow people to introduce their career, and reach out for internships so students can help figure out what they want to do after school.

The downside to Las Cruces is that they are not good with education, or checking up with students' well-being. I've had multiple teachers who, when I asked for help, told me to figure it out. Most other students I meet have severe depression and anxiety. Lots of them abuse drugs or alcohol, and we have had multiple shooting threats in the two years I've attended. As a school, we need more resources available to students for educational, and emotional help.

I really enjoyed the four years spent and LCHS. I got involved with my school and worked with my clubs and organizations throughout my high school career. The teachers and staff are amazing and get really involved and involved in there students interested and desire. The staff is so supportive and knows what’s best for there students. If I could change one thing about LCHS it would be our admin team they don’t work well with the students and do allow much student voice. We as students try to advocate for our class and for our school as a whole, but it becomes very difficult when we voice our opinions or Ideas on ways to improve students experiences or try a new and exciting tradition and we work very hard to follow thought with a plan and then they suddenly don’t have the time anymore. It shuts down our creativity and our voice as a student.
I really like our facilities, but some of them, including the music wing, could use some renovations. We recently went threw some construction on the music wing and after waiting for almost 2 years, they barely changed anything. We got new carpet in the band room and then the walls were painted. I would like the floors to be done throughout and lights replaced. Administration doesn’t really care about student input though. Almost everyone, including teachers, opposed the change from blocked schedule to 7 periods a day. Thousands of students signed a petition against it. It didn’t make a difference.
