I have been a student at Lansing Central School since I was a kindergartener. My time spent in the district has been overwhelmingly positive. As a high school senior, I can reflect on the past 13 years with happiness . The elementary and middle school were amazing, but my time at the high school stands out. The teachers are caring and helpful, always willing to support me academically and emotionally. They go above and beyond on a daily basis.
The sports programs are outstanding. The coaches prepare and train the athletes to compete fairly and with pride and integrity. Go Bobcats!
My friends at Lansing are supportive and accepting. They embrace individuality and take pride in the friendships established throughout our years at Lansing.
As a Lansing Bobcat, I feel supported and appreciated as a student, athlete, and friend.
The one area of improvement would be the amount of homework given. Although I agree homework is needed, a more suitable amount should be considered.

I really liked Lansing! Almost all of the teachers were really great, and they genuinely care about their students. There is a lot of homework, and often times, there are a few tests/projects in different classes due on the same day. However, if you’re responsible, you work hard, and you respectfully talk to a teacher a few days or a week ahead of time and explain that you have two tests and two projects in one day, they are generally understanding.
I know that there's a lot of buzz about how great the academics are at Lansing, and that's definitely true, but my favorite part of our school is probably the music programs. We have a jazz band, several chorales, a string orchestra, a regular orchestra, a pep band, a concert band... the list just goes on and on. No other small school in New York can compare. As far as the atmosphere of the student body goes, it's not exceptionally welcoming or low-pressure, but we have each other's backs, and that's something I can't say for a lot of other schools nearby (I'm looking at you, Dryden).
