This school did nothing when students are chanting and screaming Trump 2020 and I got called racial slurs in those hallways every year. They didn't have menstruation products in bathrooms in 2015-2019 and people got sick from moldy chocolate milk. Do Strings students still get locked out of the school at 6:50 AM? I had to take music classes in a room with rats and bugs. This school is disgusting.
My experience at Lansing Catholic HIgh School has been alright, mostly considering the fact that I am an a student of color who is Black, in a white majority school. I will not say I am living the dream here, there are pros and cons, the pros meaning Lansing Catholic High School can help me become ready for the big world, bring me closer to God, and give me the best education required, with the best teachers and the cons being the racism I have come up against since I started school here as a freshman and the lack of diversity, but overall, I would give it a yes, if you are a colored student who can deal with these factors.
I really liked that the education was really impactful and helpful for college, but I would like to see it less strict for future students.
The students are all really involved in academics and school spirit, I just wish the administration would listen to concerns and suggestions. I think the school often ignores concerns of parents and students because there is a lot of disconnect between the school board and the students. Sometimes students are not informed about major developments or changes, and that can be detrimental, too.
One of the things I like about Lansing Catholic is that they help their students grow in faith. This really helped me during my high school years. Also, most of the teachers are very helpful and are dedicated to help students know and understand academic concepts. However, once covid caused the world to shut down, Lansing Catholic taught online rather than in person. This style wasn't very effective. I wasn't motivated to do my school work at home.
Lansing Catholic's friendly staff and knowledgeable teachers help prepare students for life after high school. Over 95% of students are able to attend the college of their choice. The sports programs are also amazing, as the football team won the stat championship this past year, and other sports like cross country and golf go to states very often as well.
This used to be an incredible school, focused not only on faith and morals but equally on academics. It has become a school simply focused on catholic identify. It continues to decline from an academic standpoint. It lacks diversity. It lacks effective leadership. The last President lasted only 5 months because it is such a dysfunctional environment. The administration is trampling the respect and dignity of the young ladies in this school. Many teachers lack the skills to actually teach the classes to which they are assigned. The curriculum is very limited. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone until leadership and staff changes. It is truly sad to see the decline in what was once an inspiring and wonderful high school.
I really like going to school at LCHS. I wasn't sure if I would find friends at first, but I met other kids like me right away and after the first few days I knew this was the school for me. The teachers are awesome and care about their classes and students. We get to talk about and learn about our faith. I really like all of the different types of classes and things there are to do at school.
Our school is a very welcoming community where students and teachers are committed to helping every member of the community learn and grow. It's also an amazing school because we are able to grow in our faith since it is a Catholic school.
LCHS is community based on the best interest of students. The staff does a phenomenal job of teaching outside of the classroom. This is done through the emphasis on service and the golden rule.
Lansing Catholic High School is an outstanding high school! Great academics with great teachers, great sports teams, all sorts of clubs and activities so that everyone is part of something outside of the classroom. Faith and service are core to this school and not only are they talked about, but they are lived out! Students and staff have the freedom to talk about and grow in their faith and discuss social justice issues freely. This school is more than just a school, it is a home, it is a family!
I had a okay time at this school. Freshman year the discipline was a lot less than it is now. We have had some scenarios which made the school decide to become more disciplinary. The teachers are okay, but some of them don't even have a teaching degree. It was easy to pass at the school, but if you wanted to take more challenging classes you had the option too. Over all I would never recommend this school for a friend because the price is not worth the outcome.
Lansing Catholic High School is a great school for growing spiritually and intellectually. I have been greatly prepared to go off to college next year.
Lansing Catholic High School is a great place to learn and grow strong relationships with both friends and teachers. Also, they help you grow in your faith each and every day. They are very welcoming at Lansing Catholic.
I loved the atmosphere of the school. The teachers were very friendly and cared about who I was as a person. The school did very well to prepare me for college. The academics were spot on and allowed for some area of interest focus. The sports programs were great and worked with every skill level.
The staff at Lansing Catholic is phenomenal and very invested in the student's best interest. They are very aware of what goes on when it comes to bullying and they take immediate action when something is brought to their attention. My only suggestion for Lansing Catholic is to be more accepting of the LGBTQ community at the school, banning the opposite-sex rule for dances.
Lansing Catholic is a great school. I have learned many skills and have become a stronger student as a result of the diverse and engaging staff and student body. Accountability to my grades, fellow students, and teachers has shown me the importance of creating my own destiny. I am much more prepared for college and overall adulthood. If I had to change anything about Lansing Catholic, I would like to see more science and healthcare related course work.
