I personally loved Lanier because everyone had an understanding of each other and was not judgemental. I went to another high school in Austin that was full of clicks and kids competing to where the newest brands, and I didn't find that at Lanier. It was generally a low-income family school, so most kids were more focused on relationships, sports, and school. I think this is because they searched for positive things to take their mind of their negative home life possibly or maybe they eventually wanted a better future for themselves, their families, or their kids one day. It's remarkable how they focused very little on materialistic things which brought the community of Lanier High School together.

Lanier High School is very much underrated. Many problems have been tied to this school in the past and all I can say is you can't really judge the school without ever attending it. The school is full of great teachers and administrators ready to help your child succeeded. There needs to be much more parent involvement for sure! Overall really good school for teenagers who are willing to do what they can for their education.
I absolutely loved that school, I learned a lot not only education wise but about life. My teachers were extremely supportive and encouraging, I'm so thankful that we had an advisor that helped us with our college plans. Something I would change would be to encourage more spirit all throughout.
