After spending 9 yrs at the premier independent school in the LKN area my child is thriving on the same academic tract & high rigor. There are great teachers at this school….especially in the higher achieving classes. Parents play a vital role in a student’s success & from my experience, every student I know that left are the type of kids who call the shots in their house & they TELL their parents they want to go somewhere else without the parents looking into how they can help their kid be happy where they are.
We were given a lot of misinformation about the athletic program & booster club from a former family that was heavily involved in athletics. We are thrilled to learn they were just disgruntled.
Athletics is on the upswing. Soccer is very strong on & off the field. I observed varsity watch middle school after practice & hung around to give high fives. Lots of community building in the works. Baseball has a number of new players that have transferred from Mooresville.

As a student that has been attending this school for 8 years. I can wholeheartedly say, this school is a trainwreck. Constant change in admin, little to no college prep. Most teachers are incredibly unhelpful if you aren't doing well with a lesson or subject. Very rare to have a teacher that acts like they care. Admin does nothing in regards to helping students either. MAJOR lack of communication to families. Virtual learning this year in general has been a total nightmare. Most teachers updating grades once a month, leading students to be left in the dark until end-of-quarter. Which leads to a panic to try and boost their grades. To any parents with children in this school, or considering this school- please listen to your child. I can guarantee their horror stories are probably true.
Been going downhill for awhile. It is a great school don't get me wrong, but there is no such thing as consistency here. Everything from teachers to schedules to rules change every year, and makes it difficult to transition. We are on a 7 block schedule, making it harder for new students to transfer as well. 95% of the teachers are amazing, and they are always available if you need help with anything, but if you want to do something for a club or sport, or make someThing better, it either doesn't get done or takes awhile.
