Langley has a strong reputation for academics, so do take advantage for what Langley has to offer and be prepared to study well and manage your time wisely. It can be easy to fall into burnout, so try to balance out your coursework with classes like the arts and clubs that you enjoy. Some AP course have become more challenging, AP Psychology in particular, so don't underestimate the rigor of the "easier" AP classes. There is also a variety of clubs offered at Langley so try out a bunch and stick with the few you enjoy doing. Maybe you can gain some leadership experience along the way! Clubs, sports, and the arts are all great ways to find new friends. Surround yourself with a nice group of friends who can motivate you and encourage you to be your best, not ones who are self-interested or toxic. Build relationships with teachers, if you can. They can be more friendly when you meet them one on one, so don't be afraid to ask questions or see them outside of class.
Langley was a great school, with both academically challenging and easy subjects, kind, supportive and helpful teachers, great admin, and lots of resources and support for college readiness. The school was clean, hygienic, and had up-to-date facilities, technology, textbooks, as well as functioning bathrooms, air conditioning, etc. I experienced no bullying in my 3 years at the school, but felt as though the student and staff body was predominantly Caucasian, there were barely any Muslims there with me. The food was nice and fresh, and the buses were always clean and functioning. There were many activities and clubs for students to participate in, and Langley also had good sports teams, facilities and school spirit. Overall, it was easy to make friends, and I didn't experience any discrimination from teachers, staff or admin. They also have a lovely library and lots of common areas for students to access, and the education itself was very good, with many college classes and electives.
Langley High School has great teachers and a standard of academic rigor. The extracurriculars are also extremely well funded and maintained, particularly the music and theater departments. However, there is toxic culture amongst students over academic validation, as the standard for juniors and seniors is to at least take 3 APs. Additionally, the administration doesn't really understand how to handle vaping: closing random bathrooms only pushes vapers to other bathrooms and impedes most kids who just need to go. Finally, the building itself is extremely clean and easily navigable, and the counselors are always on top of scheduling.
