There are a few things that need to be addressed with my school. For instance, our facilities have not been updated in a very long time because the community has voted against approving a bond to renovate our buildings. The academics are mediocre and feels like you can just float through high school and it lacks the rigor necessary for post secondary education. However, it has many upsides. Our technology department is amazing in that we have brand new Mac books for all new teachers and students, interactive TV's for every classroom, and state of the art networking and support for the whole district. The school is great when it comes to showing school spirit and supporting our students in activities. And even though I think we are lacking in college readiness academically , I believe we have a great counselor and college liaison who have worked tirelessly to assist college bound students complete the necessary steps to get in to college.

I love my high school. It was recently partially renovated and soon will be completely renovated with new science labs and computer tech labs for the way our future is changing. Our school is getting ready so that we are trained for the outside world! The teachers and staff are encouraging and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure our grades are met and our high schook experience is unforgettable! Go Tors!
Lamesa High School is a small school, although we are rated a 4A. Its kind of weird how such a small school can be rated that high, but it is. Coming from such a small school, I have realized that there is a huge world out there, and going to Texas Tech has opened my eyes! I have met people from all over the world, many nationalities, all different backgrounds. I miss my school and hometown, but I return there a lot because my family is still there. I like going back, because it reminds me why I went to a big college.
