Lamar is the best school in our area. They have the highest percentage of graduates going on to attend college and the highest ACT average. There is a club, sport, or activity for everyone.
Lamar has an excellent curriculum, but it only works well if your child never has a problem. If you approach the administration with an issue, such as your child needing assistance with dyslexia, extended absences due to illness, bullying issues, teacher questions, or whatever your situation may be; don't expect to get the help that you've heard someone else has received. Nor should you expect for them to follow handbook policy guidelines. It's almost better to be 'seen and not heard' if you have a concern. They answer to no one and you're left to defend for yourself and your child. Everyone in our community knows this school has a prideful attitude, which is very unbecoming. ~ Proverbs 13:10 ~ Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
