I loved my experience in LHS. The teachers are very supportive and the school spirit and student involvement are amazing!
There are plenty of clubs and activities for every student, and if there isn't, the administration team makes the process of creating your own club very easy.
The academic program has been one of my favorite things from LHS. The teachers put a lot of effort into their classes, and the IB diploma program and AP courses help prepare every student for college!

I love the drama program at Lakewood High School. It's very demanding, but the teachers are passionate and the community is wonderful. I have found a huge network of support through the theatre company.

In general, going to Lakewood is a very stereotypical high school experience. The West atrium is a ton of liberal theatre kids, and the East atrium is a ton of jocks wearing Supreme.

I am also involved in the IB program. It is a rigorous workload, but I have learned so much. The majority of my teachers (especially those in the social studies department) have been wonderful and encouraging.
Overall, the school does very well at teaching their students, most of the teachers are passionate about what they do and encourage their students to make their own discoveries and pursue their own interests. I did not have a problem finding a teacher that I could connect with. Getting involved with extra curriculars is also super easy and most of them are welcoming to all students. However, the school is huge and so that means there are sometimes shortages on supplies like computers, calculators, and other basic school necessities. A lack of funding in particular departments can also be seen. For example, the arts program sometimes struggled with supplies or general budget.
