My experience at the school was the typical high school experience. I learned many lessons in the environment, I learned that Ll the movies were wrong. Overall a great spirit school, the academics are one of the best in our district! The students are okay, just teenagers being treated. Teachers are decent some are way better than others, you clique with some not all. The admin does a great job preparing you for the world after. Overall Lakewood High School was a 8/10
I have switched schools every year since fifth grade, but out of all the ones I've been to, Lakewood High School may just be my favorite. The classes are challenging, rigorous, and interesting. The teachers are empathetic, kind, and friendly. The staff cares about you, your problems, and your success. The students there are caring and accepting. At this school, I've been able to make friends and learn happily!
Lakewood High School is not just a place of learning, but a community. Students are offered multiple paths of rigor depending on their demands. As a student involved in Advanced Placement (AP), I have been able to choose courses that are the right fit for me. Lakewood also offers an abundance of academic support. The tutoring center is open every block daily and has student volunteers available to help their peers. Additionally, teachers are welcoming of all students and have their best interests in mind. Student council plans many fun events and presents opportunities to get involved within the community. Homecoming, spirit days, and prom are all activities with high participation. Students, with approval, are able to start clubs and advertise their purpose around the school. Administration and Security are determined to keep the student body safe and make school a positive place to be. Overall, many programs exceed expectations and Lakewood High School continues to impress.
