It was a good school at the beginning, but it’s just like any other school when you fall in with the wrong crowd. It doesn’t matter what you do after that anymore, it’s all up to you to get out of it and at that point the school isn’t the problem but it’s the students. Unfortunately the school may be beautiful and offer some good classes, but due to the area it’s in, most kids aren’t known for wanting to try much at all at that school mainly because of poverty impacting the educational lives of the students. Overall the staff and administration is wonderful and see fit to do what they believe is right to assist the students in any way possible.

I went to LHS for all for 4 years of my high school career. What really made me love my school was most of my teachers, they were always so helpful and I knew I can speak to them about personal issues at home or elsewhere. Ms. Flores was my all time favorite teacher, she always put me on the right track and even now after high school we still keep in touch and she still helps me out with my college homework. The only reason I am not giving this school 5 stars is because of the lack of college assistance with non avid students. I had so much trouble applying for college, because I had literally no knowledge about the process. Mr. Kerber really helped and encouraged me to take on the stress and guided me toward the process. Though students are not in avid, we should still encourage them and at least introduce them to the process/applications to applying for college and financial aid.
I had a fairly good experience attending Lakeside because I was really involved in sports and some clubs. I also made connections with a couple of teachers which made it more memorable. I would like for the academics to be more demanding because some teachers did not put in much interest or work into it. Some classes were not challenging enough and did not teach much to the students due to the teachers a well. The administration was not the nicest for the most part. I like how Lakeside always felt like home because it was very welcoming and it has people filled with enthusiasm. The campus is very pretty and it is easy to get around. The school did lack a bit of spirit such as in sports games and rallies. It was also a bit unorganized in the sense of events.
