LTHS offers tremendous options and choices in academic classes based on a students interests and goals. The Sports teams are elite giving students pursuing college sports great exposure. The campus is beautiful and in a quickly growing lakefront community making it a desirable place to live and learn. There is great community and parent support providing financial means to provide improvements to keep up with the rapid growth and improved resources for LTHS that span all areas. I wouldn’t change anything about LTHS, but I would hope that in the upcoming years depending on how much the student population continues to increase, the community decides to build a second High School so that kids growing up in this area continue to have the ability to play and participate in the sports and activities they love.

Great academics! They offer lots of unique classes which helps you branch out and find your interest. The teachers and great for the most part. Science department and english departments are top notch. Sports are amazing as well! LT offers lots of sports, all of which have great spirit. The football scene at LT is the most well known, although some of the smaller sports are the ones to really watch for. My favorite part of being an LT student is the community outreach that the school supports such as to our special needs community and volunteering. By being a part of many clubs, I have felt more impactful towards the community.
I have spent all four years of high school at Lake Travis. The experience was meh. There are a ton of people so you are bound to find someone with similar interest and it's easy to make friends if you put yourself out there. Almost, no one goes to football games, and I think that is because you are either studying, sleeping, or hanging out with your friends elsewhere. I will say that the academics here are hit or miss. I loved all my math classes and was prepared for the SAT and AP test; however, I cannot say the same for Science or History. it's a consensus that our science department sucks, especially AP sciences). I love Mr.Craig though. Clubs and sports are abundant here, so don't worry about LT lacking something. I will add that our sports are very competitive. Few POC and some racist ppl. If you are looking for a good school district that sends its students to above average universities and you want a nice house, LT is where you ought to go.
