I have been going to Lake Mead christian Academy since the first grade and i think that the school is in all ways better than the public school experience, i have tried public school when i moved to California and the difference in how teachers teach, their understanding and how much they truly care for you is insurmountable. At Lake Mead the staff just love what they do and you can just feel that atmosphere of just joy, but overall i think that although the school does cost quite a bit if you can afford the tuition that money will not go to waste, and even if you can't that have stuff like payment plans and scholarships you can get to reduce the cost of going there.
Lake Mead Christian Academy is a religious private school. Although LMCA was the only school I've ever attended, I am familiar with multiple other schools in my area and how LMCA outshines every single one. LMCA offers community, shelter, love, compassion, etc. When you attend this school, you are given the opportunity to go on mission trips, either in or out of the country, take classes with teachers that truly care about your physical, emotional and spiritual needs, and find comfort in knowing that you apart of a family and community.
I attended LMCA from 7th grade all the way until graduation. It is a very tight nit community yet this community is also very accepting and inviting of newcomers. I can't think of a single teacher at the school that does not genuinely care immensely about the lives and success of the students. Some of the current administration is lacking in terms of doing things in the best interest of the students and their academic experience. The school spirit at times is not great but there is a variety of sports for whatever suits your interest. They also added somewhere around 12-13 clubs during my Senior year which opens up more opportunities for students to get involved. As far as diversity goes there is mediocre racial diversity as well as mediocre economic diversity. Once again, although there is not a great amount of diversity, the students that are in the minority are still accepted very quickly and there is little to no exclusion of students between friend groups.
