I do not like this school at all. Some teachers are great at teaching and really do get you involved, others are still employed here because they are friends with important staff members. Academic wise, I think it’s fine. College readiness, although they always talk about how important college is, they have not given me any guidance on what I should do depending on what I want to major in. While we do have some sports teams, the only sport we seem to be good at is golf and that’s it. The students are pretty snobby and aren’t easy to make friends with since they’ve been together since grade school and so it’s hard to be accepted into their groups. There is no culture in this school and barely any diversity.
Lake Mary Prep does a great job at preparing its students for college. The teachers make sure to keep track of every student's progress in order to ensure they are receiving the most out of the material. One downside for people maybe the size of the school, but that could be a pro and con since everyone is in a tight-knit environment.
LMP is a great academic school with faculty who truly care about each student's success. I have attended LMP since I was in Kindergarten, and it has become a second home to me where I have made countless unforgettable memories. To put it simply, LMP is a family and everyone is accepted with open arms, no matter their background. If I could change one thing, it would be to bring back the football team and improve athletics.
In addition to a network of caring parents, faculty, and staff, I really think that one of the things that has stood out to us is what you get with the arts, PE, and STEM courses. LMP really emphasizes these subjects and provides EXCEPTIONAL teaching. The customized attention to each student's needs has also been refreshing. The school monitors each student's progress throughout the year to confirm growth, which we really appreciate. Plus, we've really enjoyed the families we've gotten to know. I highly recommend LMP!
My daughter is in kindergarten and we have had an excellent experience. She receives individualized education. All staff/teachers/principal know her name. They are family friendly, involve parents and have great social events as well. Their educational curriculum is solid and superior to that which we have found at other schools during our research. Highly recommend.
Lake Mary Preparatory School provides students with whatever they need to get into top-tier colleges and succeed in life. This school provides a foundation and creates a path to the future. With a 100% college acceptance rate, why send your children anywhere else? This school can't be beat.
Lake Mary Prep is a one school fits all for our family. We have three children who have been growing and thriving at LMP for the past 7 years. They are challenged daily in the best possible way. They are always happy to go to school and continue to sign up for more extracurricular activities each year.
My son started at LMP 6 years ago as a timid and shy Pre-K3 student. He is now a confident and outgoing kid who will be starting 4th grade in August. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the teachers we’ve had over the years! Although the school has gone through a few administrative changes in the past few years, this has not seemed to have had any negative impact on the level of education excellence provided by the teachers and staff. We are very pleased with our decision to join the LMP family and look forward to many more successful years here.
Great Small School setting but leave a big impact on our lives with the help of teachers and faculty and students there's a lot unity of the people and the diversity and that what help make this school so great.
My children have attended Lake Mary Prep since elementary school. They have received an advanced curriculum every year. But the best thing about LMP is the family atmosphere. When my child was sick or just not himself the teachers noticed and let me know. I never felt my son was just a student but a child who was cared for, nurtured and challenged. There have been administrators who did not always answer my questions as I had wanted but that is the case at every school. But the teachers who interact with my boys on a daily basis were always professional and kind. I did not always agree with every class grade or procedure but My children always were treated fairly. When we attended sporting events the character of the LMP students often out shined those of other private schools, poor sportsmanship and disrespect were never seen or tolerated. I want that for my sons. School is about more than an education it is about the whole child and LMP practices this.
HUGE BULLYING PROBLEM! The administration has no respect for your children.
Teacher's children will get special treatment. Football players will get special treatment and be offered "academic" scholarships. The financial office will charge you for costs that don't apply to you. All of the good teachers will leave. The lunch is extremely overpriced. There are some really great teachers and playing on the sports teams is very popular because there are no tryouts.

This school is a PreK-12th grade school. I am unable to speak for everyone, but my child (and my child is not the onely one) has had bad experinces in the two most recent years (2016-17, 2017-18).
Administration and the way issues are addressed (i.e., not at all - young children are bullied or hurt and parents are not informed, not acceptable at ANY school). Many in Administrative positions are new and cannot explain or anwer questions.
The parental involvment and groups within parental involvement are also an example of bullying and unadult behavior.
Beware of promises and the face that is put upon for new enrollments.

I transferred to this school from a large public school. At first it was a very different experience but i was more than happy with my decision to come to school here. The school is very small so instead of having lots of social cliques and friend groups like in my previous high school, at LMP everyone wanted to be friends.
Since Ray Lewis left our school we lost our football program and all the football players. We don't have a homecoming football game but they managed to make a intramural flag football instead. Basketball is going to be huge this year which I am apart of but even that the show out is low. Not a great gym either pretty old.
You are constantly given the opportunity to excel at anything you do at LMP. For me I have taken honors classes but the AP classes here can be rigorous. Also our extracurricular clubs and classes like Debate and DECA are run by an amazing teacher.
