My name is Anna Pollard and I am a recent graduate of Lake Highlands High School located within the Richardson School district. Lake Highlands is known throughout the Dallas area as being one of the best neighborhoods to raise a family!
I began attending Lake Highlands Elementary during my 5th grade year. The School Principal at that time had just won Principal of the year for the entire RISD school district. She and her staff were so warm and welcoming to both myself and my family that it made my transition so easy!
I went on to attend LH Junior High, Freshman Center and LH High School. I became involved in several extracurricular which included Freshman,JV and Varsity Cheerleader, and a member of the LH Wildcat Wrangler Country Dance and Stunt teams. Once again, the Administration, faculty, coaches and community were always so supportive and helped prepare me for this new Chapter in my life as a Texas Tech Raider!

My teachers were awesome. There is always something to do at Lake Highlands. There are after school programs such as bowling team, drama club, AVID, peer helpers and many more! I was a part of the peer helpers, a team of high school juniors and seniors who visited with elementary aged children once or twice a week to talk about life and possibly give them advice on how to be successful in high school. I loved Lake Highlands because we are like a family. All the teachers and staff speak build relationships with their students and we are lifelong friends after we graduate!
The only reason I even gave Lake Highlands 2 stars and not one is because of the few teachers that ARE good, they're amazing. Other than those very few great teachers, the staff is ridiculous. First of all, it seems as if we get brand new administration every single year! Anyone who works here seems to leave as soon as they get the opportunity to. The school is dirty and uncared for, there's a very obvious bias for the guys athletic department versus the girls, and it is very evident that the teachers and administration are not being evaluated in-depth enough.
