Lake Eola charter is an academic focusing school. Teachers are responsible, parents will be involved in many opportunities. It is not a traditional public school like having athletes teams and have lots of activities I have to admit, but I am surprised that school focus on the academy so much even from the kindergarten. As a downtown oriented school, they utilize orange county library, historic center, and lake Eola park very well. Small class which means teachers know each student’s situation well. Besides campus safety is a huge advantage. I can’t satisfy more comparing to the public school we were assigned to.
Overall the school is average.
The pros: promotes strong parental involvement, students get to go to public library and Lake Eola Park and other unique destinations in Downtown Orlando, high focus on academics.
The cons: allow very few fresh ideas. comfortable with old, outdated processes, gives a strong vibe of "if you don't like it, you can leave". Building is old, mildewed, dusty.

I had a good 3 years at this school. I think its STEM classes and its academics are what really hold the school together. There are no athletic teams at the school and the only food that they provide is pizza on Fridays. However, the school is very diverse in teachers and students and there is a very strong parent involvement in everyday school activities.
