LHS has been a great fit for my daughter who is a Senior this year. Her teachers and administers have worked with her to become a good student who is college bound. She has received several scholarships. The counseling center needs to start beginning of Junior year no later to get students ready for college. Senior year is too late. Luckily, we started working on our own Sophomore year or my daughter would have missed some great opportunities. Very happy they have started dual enrollment with TNCC too! Having a unique daughter she has fit in well with the students in LHS and has found her niche with no bullying. Students are very accepting of students who are different and exceptional.
LHS has been a great school to us!

Lafayette High School focuses on the safety and on the well-being of their students. Furthermore, most teachers care and support their students in order to help them be successful. On the other hand, the change that I would like to see is the availability of the councilors for their students. Meaning, the system that you have to apply for an appointment in writing to see the councilor and to wait for him/her to get back to you is unfortunate when it comes to a time pressing matter.
The school was not great with announcements. They announced some things but not enough. Much of the school announcements are announced on twitter; however, not everyone has a twitter. Clubs also do a poor job at notifying the student body. Next, counselors were not the greatest. I lost the possibility of recieving college credits for a course I got an A in. The counselor did not make sure that we had forms completed like they should. Only one person in the class knew about the forms. The counselor accused the students of losing them even though the instructor said he never got them to hand out to the students. The food is poor. The food does not give you enough energy to make it through the day. The serving size are really small and the food is often undercooked and soggy. Next, sports teams here can be hard to get on and I you make it on it is difficult to get playing time. Teams are often bias and do not give equal opportunity to all players.
