Lafayette High School has shaped me into a very well rounded student. I feel very prepared for the next step in my educational career. I have had the opportunity take AP classes as well as classes in different career fields. Lafayette offers endless extra curricular activities from athletics to various clubs. I have participated in their soccer and track programs as well as Link Crew and Key Club. There is something for everyone. The coaching staff, teachers and administrators are exceptional! I could not have asked for more in my high school education. Thank you Lafayette!

Academics can be excellent, plenty of opportunities for any kid and any interest-
If your son is into sports- I’d give careful consideration. Football is mediocre, wrestling program is top notch, basketball for boys mediocre, volleyball for boys average- Baseball pathetic. The Varsity team rarely practices and the head coach is awful! All the talent in the World and he simply doesn’t care. They play about 2/3rds the games of most any other school or less. If Lafayette hired a head Coach that cared at all - I would give 5 stars. Really sad- if Baseball is important to your son, evaluate your options.
Lafayette High School has great administrative staff and great teachers. However, sometimes some of the students are rather blatant in their disregard for rules and such. But, you will always have those students no matter where you go.

I would say that the academics at Lafayette are very strong. We offer nearly all AP courses available (except for Chinese, Capstone, and Research Seminar I think?)

Lafayette is surrounded by rather affluent neighborhoods, so technology and school-maintenance is top-notch. This year (2017), Rockwood has decided to completely renovate the science labs and hallway.

We have our own school store that's open on most days, and run by the Parent PTO. Also, we have a student run cookie stand that's amazing!

Our lunch options are pretty average (I think?). Many people from LHS will tell you that the food is horrible, but it's actually not that bad. You have a lot of options to choose from, and a lot of variety.
