What I truly enjoyed from my career at Lafayette High School, would have been the few outstanding teachers who made an effort to show they cared both about your education and well-being. Lafayette needs more teachers like this, students do not want someone in the classroom who does not care, it brings morale down and they put carelessness into their school work. Teachers also need to be more flexible within their lecture style, not every student learns the same, every brain is unique and processes things differently, Their are teachers who excel at this at Lafayette ad some who just brush it off.

Lafayette is such a great family school! Everyone here is one big happy family. I knew this was true since day one of Freshmen year. Now it is my senior year and I just had to deal with the loss of my father. My first day back after the tragedy I was greeted with love and support. Even within a few weeks the school raised over $1,500.00 and split it between me and another student who just lost their dad as well. The departments are class, the musical is always fun, the choir program is a little rough with all the choir directors we have seen in the past four years, but the one we have now is here to stay. You really feel a connection at this school, you feel wanted, you feel that you are actually one of the cool kids for once.
Lafayette as a whole was somewhat rough to get a handle on and I never felt like I was comfortable there until my senior year. Although I never struggled with academics much, I felt as if the staff (especially the counselors) were very biased toward the more involved and the more "popular" kids. I never felt like I could really go to them because I was not one of those kids. It took so long to feel a part of anything there.
