I really enjoy being a student at Ladue Horton Watkins High School! All of the teachers are so friendly and are eager to teach. They make sure that the lessons are engaging and I have fun learning. I am motivated to come to school every day knowing that I will receive a high quality education. I feel that they prepared me for college well, and I am ready for the next chapter. The building is always clean and organized, and all of the staff members really care about each student's education and safety. Additionally, all of the students are motivated, which also helps my motivation. It is a wonderful environment to be in, and I'm so glad I go to school here!
Every aspect of Ladue Horton Watkins High School is amazing, and I would not trade my high school experience for anything! We have amazing school spirit, especially since opening our brand new football field and stadium with lights for night games! Our football team won the State Championship in 2018, so we have an amazing program! We have tons of talented musicians at our school, not to mention wonderful art programs of every aspect. The teachers genuinely care about how the students are doing, they know you by name, so it gives you a feeling that you matter. At LHWHS, the students are not just numbers, they are people.
It was okay. I had fun at games and school events, but being a minority at this school showed true colors in people. Lots of underground racism and white privilege. But they do have clubs for specific minority groups so they can connect and talk about the issues in the school and the world. The teachers I had were all amazing and they all cared for my well-being and future. There are cliques and established 'groups' in the school, but I had no problem with most of the 'popular' GIRLS. The boys were usually the racist ones I was talking about earlier. I personally don't think I found my perfect/established friend group at this school, but it can be different for everyone. I loved the food. Nachos were A1 and so were the sandwiches. They messed up the beef recipe in the middle of my senior year though. I overall liked this school and prefer it over the district I moved from after the third grade. Ladue somewhat helped me prepare for college and I enjoyed most of my time here.
