La Salle Academy is a high school rich in history and grounded in the tradition of Catholic education. The De La Salle Middle School provides a strong holistic foundation for students to transition into the high school. La Salle Academy and De La Salle Middle School students demonstrate their talents and abilities academically while excelling in the arts and on athletic fields. The high school and middle school provide students of diverse ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds, a community to foster growth in the tradition of St. John Baptist de La Salle’s ideals of faith, service, and community.

I liked that it was a big high school. It has a large campus for a high school with almost a college feel. It gives you a feel to what a smaller college environment would be like. I also like the fact that they offer real life skill classes such as; personal finance, business, economics. I've found that most schools do not offer these types and I think it is very helpful.

Some things I would like to see change are the values of the administration at La Salle. They care more about their reputation than their students. They are known for getting rid of something if it's a threat to their reputation and future students. They favor certain sports. For example, the baseball field is state of the art, because they do well and they are boys. The girls softball field is barely a field, more of a grass patch with a temporary and flimsy fence. All in all wherever you go to school, there will be positives and negatives. Hopefully they can change these negatives sometime in the near future.
As with any school, you get out of it what you put into it regardless of any obstacles, deficiencies, advantages or economic conditions. The History of LSA has always been to give back to those that would or may not have had an opportunity to succeed to be the best they could be.
Therefore, having dedicated teachers and coaches that get the best out of every student regardless of any activity or area of interest is the key. Helping others is paramount in the history of La Salle. We should invest in people that have the experience and dedication to make this happen. It's not about getting into the best colleges, or winning every athletic contest; it's about being the best you can be & helping others. This is what La Salle is - and this is why there is such a strong Alumni. This is the core of the La Salle tradition. After three generations going back to WWII, this is what LSA involvement this means to us.
