The first part of this review was deleted on another review website for some reason so let me restate here. La Pietra has many issues. There are some teachers that play favoritism towards students that have the highest grades in their classes. They have a terrible bullying situation where the bully seems to get away and the victims get blamed. Academics are lackluster as students don't get the classes they want, and are forced to take classes they don't like. I wished they cared about the mental health of students more because I had some of those issues that happened outside of school that I couldn't tell my friends or teachers. Plus I also wished the school taught me how to find a career I like since I just graduated college and I still have no idea what to do! And the amount of financial aid wasn't enough to cover tuition costs that my mom was paying, and some of my classmates could agree. The school just seem to be more of a cash grab, than an educational institution!
La Pietra has truly allowed me to flourish, not only as a student but as an individual. With a plethora of opportunities, all within my grasp, it was easy to become a well-rounded individual. At La Pietra, I didn't have to compartmentalize; I could play the violin, be on the basketball team, participate in Student Government, be a lead role in the school play, be in the National Honor Society, tutor students, and still have time to focus on my own studies and come into my own.
While first deciding to attend La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls, I was greatly influenced by the admissions process. All the ladies in the office and people around school were all so kind and welcoming. Then when I decided to attend La Pietra I noticed all the teacher's were very good at their job and work with students to succeed. La Pietra is also part of Pac5 sports allowing for girls to participate in a range of sports. In addition the community at La Pietra is genuine. Everyone knows each other and help each other out, even parents are involved. Parents put on lunch every month and even hold a father daughter and mother daughter night, where daughters have a chance to bond with their parent. And because of the community at La Pietra I have grew to be more outspoken and have seen other girls grow intellectually and socially during my four years at La Pietra. Therefore, I believe La Pietra is a very good school preparing girls for college
