La Petite Ecole - Le Lycee Francais de San Diego Reviews

Our daughter has been attending her third year now at the Lycee Francais de San Diego. She loves it and here is why. The teacher-student ratio is better than we have seen elsewhere. From two to three years old I believe the ratio was 1 to 6. She had ten or so students in the class and 2 instructors. Now that she is in Pre-Kindergarten, the ratio is 1 to 12.

The school is in a brand new location and the facilities are great. Lunch is offered by Girard Gourmet. Tuition is reasonable. French academics are of a high standard and put emphasis on curiosity, making learning fun but also on politeness and respect.

My daughter was in another school before here and the difference in the kids and how they respected their teacher and others was striking.

There are multiple offerings for afterschool programs. The school is diverse. Parents come from 29 countries. The students focus on French in the early years and add English later on. Not to worry, all kids speak great English.
Interesting and broad liberal arts curriculum. The children of non-French speaking parents seem to learn French as well as those who already arrive at the preschool already understanding French. Poor leadership and administration. High staff turnover. Suggest prospective preschool families check the Dept of Social Services records for any preschool or daycare facility:
It has been a wonderful 11 years experience for both of my kids. Principal Mr. Pasquet administration and teachers are all wonderful.

Has been an amazing experience for our child to be immersed in another language and get contextual learning and perform very well in both French and English. Great community of parents, committed teachers and administration. The school is moving, expanding to higher grade levels and heading in very positive direction! Teachers for our child have been excellent. Current location hasn't been great, but the new location for the 2018-2019 school year and on looks to become spectacular!
