Kyrene del Norte Dual Language Academy Reviews
Rating 2.5 out of 5 4 reviews
Norte was okay. I do have concerns regarding the helicopter parenting of OTHER PARENTS and educators . There is a propensity to scrutinize the parenting of, single/families of color. A teacher attempted to chastise me on the basis that I, supposedly, did not feed my child. I do understand and appreciate the concern. I am also an educator. My issue is 1). She never had a conversation with me 2). She never asked any questions and 3). She never bothered to ask if this information was even accurate, which it was not). Surprisingly, most of this parental shaming stems from other teachers of color. Please stop with the elitism and intrusiveness. Before you attempt to intervene in a situation and play "parental cop", first understand that this is NOT your (other parents) designated role, you should first seek to understand the situation or, better yet....see if the situation is TRUE. Be better.
My children I have 3 kids at this school. 2 girls 1 boy. My son is targeted and judged by the way he looks from teachers and administration and bus drivers. Because he is wears braids in his hair he is automatically looked at as a ignorant misfit kid.he is not allowed to defend himself when he trys to get help from teachers he is pushed away. He gets spit on by other students and when defends himself he is the one punished and the other party involved gets no disciplinary action at all. These type of incidents have happened throughout this year and nothing has been done even when brought to the districts attention. They don't care about my children learning they don't care if he learns anything at all. They don't want him there. I will never recommend this school to anyone and we will not be returning next year.
The teachers are afraid to protect the students from being mistreated by other teachers, administartion, and the district.
