Overall my experience at Pete Knight High was okay. The Knight High atmosphere shifted its focus from school activities and sports to academics and college readiness in my graduating year and the graduating year after mine. The swift shift from the previous years did not catch the school off guard. The school, which has thirteen A.P. courses, several honors classes, college prep courses/programs, and SAT and ACT preparation after school programs, were prepared but shocked at the high volume of academic interest. The preparedness is what was good overall to our school and education system.

Unfortunately probably because of this academic wave and constant administration changes, Knight High School largely focused on academics but did not focus as much on activities, clubs and school spirit.
Review Knight High School
Overall, education was average unless you were in one of the programs the school had to offer. Fortunately, I was in the Digital Design and Engineering Academy which offered the same teachers all four years and students only had classes with those in the academy which helped build close connections. The academy offered classes, not available to all students, that were career based for those looking to purse design or engineering. Students could reach out and receive help with homework, scholarships, even personal problems and the academy teachers were always happy to help, usually going above and beyond to keep students in check academic wise and guided those with troubles outside of school. The academy also offered many clubs and volunteer experience so by the time college application season came, students were exceptionally prepared. If it weren't for the academy, I'm not sure how my time at Pete Knight would have been.
High School is never how it's portrayed in movies. But, i have to admit, Knight High School gets pretty close. It has plenty of school spirit and our marching band is amazing! Homecoming games make you feel like you're in a High School movie. There is, sadly, peer pressure to do drugs and alcohol though but that mainly depends on who your child is hanging out with. I've never been peer pressured or even been offered drugs or alcohol because i hang out with good kids who know to stay away from it.
