The education I received there was excellent! They have many options to earn certificates straight out of high school, like cosmetology courses, courses for those who want to be elementary school teachers where students get to spend their days with kids, nursing courses, and I even know someone who was a certified EMT as soon as she graduated! There are many class options, and counselors genuinely care about their students. The only problem I ever encountered at Klein Collins was racism. During my senior year, a teacher was fired for calling a student the N-word and it was all over the news. Despite this and the multiple other encounters with racist teachers (mostly substitutes) I won’t knock the education I received there and all of my complains about racism where taken very seriously by assistant principals. Over all, Klein Collins is a very nice school that offers an amazing amount of options for students ranging from club and sports to AP and advanced courses.
Experience here has been great, majority of the teachers and staff are friendly and helpful. Many options for extracurriculars and wide variety of fun clubs to join! Only thing I’d personally say I’d like to see change is the attitudes of some staff towards students, the lack of communication really affects the confidence and overall performance of some students to not try their best.
Overall, Klein Collins is a decent school with tons of diversity. The education taught, on an advanced level, suits to general student body's learning style, and difficult subjects are translated well to newcomers. Although the teachers are above-average, the administrators' ability to deal with conflicts in racism, sexism, near assault, and homophobia is hushed quiet until it blows up onto them. If they had put the same energy into dress coding students into dealing with major controversial issues, Klein Collins would be more than excellent. I would love to see Klein Collins growing their policies into a lenient and progressive view, with more actions instead of silencing sensitive matters and treating student mental health seriously. I've seen countless issues that pertain to assault, bullying, and harassment to close peers, but the higher administrators chose the sides of the inflictor. It would be nice to see the administrators focusing on something important.
