I have been working at the Kirov Academy since 2017, and have found the staff & students friendly. The students are very talented, even performing for a week at the Kennedy Center in conjunction with a major company! The teaching staff, both academic and artistic are professional, run an excellent program that prepares the students well for both companies and university placement.

Our daughter is completing her 1st year as a full-time Kirov student. She has improved artistically and academically. Artistically the training is thorough and focuses on precision, strength, and artistry. Classes are small so the teacher has time to work with each student. Teachers are strict about technique but are very caring. Academically my daughter feels challenged by the material and the pace. She has always received good grades but now she is really interested and involved in what she is learning. The classes are small and there are excellent discussions and plenty of individual attention. While both parts of this school have exceeded our expectations, Kirov cannot just be defined by its programs. It is the teachers, staff, and students that make it special. My daughter has made lifelong friends from all over the world, has been supported even through a difficult injury, and is mastering skills that will help her no matter where her path takes her.
My 13 year old daughter has trained at KAB since last summer. She has improved amazingly during this time in her ballet technique. Besides the ballet and other dance related classes, she has also done well in the academic classes and the residential life. The academic classes seem to be on par with what she was receiving in her regular school and her teachers are very supportive. The residential life staff are great and well as the quality of the accommodations. We would recommend KAB to anyone trying to prepare for a serious career in ballet and that parents should feel confident about sending their children to this loving, supportive environment.
