KIPP Denver Collegiate High School is a very good school. The teachers in this school really do demonstrate that they care for their students. They are able to prepare students for college and post-secondary plans. Through the school's motto, "To and Through College," it serves as a daily reminder why students go to school and what their purpose is. The school has set high expectations for the students. While academics are important, the school is very strict on the uniform policy. Dressed in uniform is a huge factor in the school's environment and how students behave. It unifies all students.

KIPP Denver Collegiate(KDC) is a somewhat strict school. It was made to provide opportunities and excellent education to students below the poverty line. Coincidentally, a large portion of the students are of Hispanic heritage. It does well in putting first the kids failing class. Students who had previously been ignored, were focused on to assure that they, too, would succeed. Unfortunately, by focusing on the students falling behind, the teachers often neglect the students ahead of the curriculum. KDC does a great job of leveling the playing field and offers opportunities to a community that would otherwise be unaware of said opportunities.
KIPP has taught me to be an effective leader and a productive member of my community. Prior to starting at KIPP, I didn't have any plans regarding my future. Now, as a Senior, I am college bound student with attainable goals and an understanding of where I stand concerning my future and success in the future. KIPP is an outstanding opportunity for low-income families to be able to be able to achieve the American Dream as well as provide them with the resources necessary to be able to attend any college of choice as well as preparing them for plans outside of attending college.
