I've been part of KIPP for almost 7 years now. I became part of the community right away as the community is filled with caring teachers, staff, and alumni. KIPP mainly focuses on preparing its alumni for college through its program KIPP Through College. In this program, mentors guide the students all the way from freshman year till they graduate in college. They are there the whole time offering help and mentor-ship. This is a great school with no problem of bullying, good academics and a great community.

My experience at KIPP has been good because it is focused on pushing and helping students go to college. For me it has opened my eyes that I can go soemewhere in life if I work hard, it has also giving me an opportunity to meet amazing teachers who work extreamly hard to help students be succesful and that anything is possible. Although KIPP has thought me a lot, it's very academic and students don't really have "school spirit" because we rarely have time off , and the way that the disaplin sysytem is makes students not really care about it because althougth teachers try evrything when the same consequence takes place its hard for students to follow and care about it.
KIPP Austin Collegiate is an overall great high school because it is an institute that truly focuses itself around students. Its differentiable factors are those of attention and care. Each student is treated equally without view of their background nor level of needs; everyone is set up for success. Personal lives also hold importance within the student-teacher relationship since nobody is left with a feeling of inferior importance directed towards them. The staff is carefully selected through the years and their placement has always been to favor the students. College readiness is what I believe the strongest factor is; through all four years of high school, students are set on a straight path for college. The largest weakness is the inconsistency of its system. Every once in a while, the way that the school is run is altered and that’s when the students can be either aided or thrown off the most, but in reality these changes are meant for the best possible long term outcomes.
