Kingwood High was extremely competitive. I remember they had a contest for everything, and everything they competed in, they won. Having come from a poorer school where we won nothing and went nowhere, it was a bit of a culture shock. I participated in the debate team, where a group of students had gotten to go to Washington D.C. to meet a senator after winning a debate tournament. While the competitive spirit did sweep me off my feet at first, I was excited for the many opportunities offered by Kingwood. I could be in the FFA, the debate team, and auditioned for plays. There was always a club or class for everything that could interest you, and that club or class went places. Aside from their competitions, it was a very wealthy, somewhat snobby school. Armed with all of their trophies, the Kingwood students looked down on the poorer schools. They didn't seem to realize how lucky they were. For this reason, I am glad I only spent one year there.
kingwood high school Is one of the best high schools in the humble isd school district no doubt at all
This school prepared me for college. When I entered college the work load was do able because of Kingwood High School.
It's a pretty good school, I think. The academics are good, and there are so many available paths/courses (especially when it comes to CTE courses). The school has a good athletics and Math/Science program, but I think their a bit lackluster when it comes to the Arts/Music department. The school is also very big, so it can be difficult to make it to class on time if you have to travel from one end of the school to another.
Kingwood may lack in the sports department when it comes to football and basketball, but makes up for it in the academic department. The academic atmosphere is excellent, you get the best education you can. But for anyone who is a minority you have to deal with microaggressions, racism, and stereotyping.
The school plans many events to engage students and create a positive and exciting environment for its students. The teachers I had were all very interested in my learning and fully devoted themselves to making sure I was receptive to their style of teaching. The only downside I would have is that there are some traditional rules from the school that are outdated and there are a few teachers who are not the best equipped for helping struggling students and do not teach effectively.
Kingwood High School gives many opportunities to its students. It strives for student success and student involvement. There are many great programs that the school offers. I personally took the CNA I class and am currently in the CNA II class. I learned skills related to Nursing Assisting and am currently in the works for my certification at the nursing home named Focused Care at Humble. In the CNA II class I am teaching and supervising the CNA I students on the skills that they will be learning. Kingwood High is also big on their club organizations. I am in the Hosa Organization at my school and it has been an amazing experience. I am currently an officer in the organization and have participated in the fundraiser we did this year. We raised 14,000 dollars and I have qualified to advance to State in my Nursing Assisting event. I have also participated in the blood drive that we hold at our school that is done through the Hosa Organization and who we are partnered with.
Kingwood high school is very academically challenging and will prepare you for your next steps in life. There is a wide variety of clubs, activities, and classes to participate in and there is one or more for everyone! Although the competitive nature of the school is difficult to navigate at times Kingwood high school encourages students to work hard and achieve success in whatever that may look like to a student.
The school itself is good all around, there aren't many bad things to say about it. While the atmosphere is kind of questionable at certain parts, you can just regard that as the rotten section of the fruit.
Kingwood High School offers many different opportunities for the students there, including a diverse club choice, a variety of sports, and a challenging curriculum to push students to do their best.
Its a good school, i've gone there for four years without issues, the school is very competitive and you get a pretty hefty workload, when Covid isn't involved at least, but overall i'd say i had an amazing school experiance
Kingwood high school has provided me with a great education. The course level we take is equivalent to college courses. When I graduate I am confident I am well prepared to handle my college courses. The teachers are caring and take the time to help you outside of the class time when needed. I have also enjoyed my four years playing on the baseball team. We are provided with great facility and supported by the faculty and staff.
I loved everything KHS! The principle Dr.Nasra really cares about his students and actively participates in all parts of the school to show the students that he cares and that he wants to build a community. The teachers there work super hard to help their students and the community around the school always comes together to help the school like during Hurricane Harvey, Imelda, and during Covid-19. The school is also very safe with it's procedures, safety days, and the wonderful school police officers that ensure our safety. All the programs up at kingwood are very successful as well. Overall a fantastic school to have your children spend their high school years.
Teachers were amazing, instructors I had all cared about their student's success and offered tutoring or other help times during the school day, extra-curriculars were awesome and there were plenty of clubs or non-competitive sports to join
The school overall is a fair school. They value academics and make sure there is a tradition of success. Sports such as swimming and Cross Country are very successful, however, football has never been that successful there. Not to mention the school is in a safe area. For a high school it is quite fair.
Kingwood High School has an amazing academic program. The teachers are phenomenal. They are extremely passionate about the subjects they teach and go out of their way to help their students be successful. There are numerous different activities and clubs that Kingwood High School has to offer. Their programs help prepare students for future careers and necessary skills. The programs also allow students to explore new interest, make friends, and get involved the school. Kingwoods culture tends to be full of clicks but there are so many people who are welcoming. Most students are dedicated to their studies which encourages others to value their education and strive for improvement. Just like their academics Kingwood has good sports teams. Their athletics and fine arts are also extremely successful.
Great School. High standards and heavy healthy competition. The expectations are high and it gives the students the strive to be excellent.
