The teachers were really understanding and they got why I needed to take a break from my mental health and I was able to catch up.
I wish there was more available class options, but overall I love Kingston High School. I love the atmosphere and the small size of the school, which provides a lot more of a community feeling.
Very good school for Art and STEM aspiring students. The teachers in these fields are incredibly passionate about their subject and are over-qualified.
All of the teacher's I have had are invested in their students success and work with students to help them succeed.
I became apart of Kingston High School in my junior year when I enrolled in the Running Start program at Olympic College. My experience has been excellent through supportive and informative counselors. My counselor has done an exceptional job in aiding me through courses and my future path towards colleges. It would have been a much more laborious process for me to plan out my high school and college requirements without the advice of my high school counselor. Overall, I have had a very pleasant and enlightening experience with the staff and counselors at Kingston High school.
They tried to accommodate me, but ultimately need better support for disabled students. I struggled to get enough flexibility, especially with homework.
Nice atmosphere. The teachers are understanding and very helpful. Classes are sometimes small and make focusing easier.
The school has some bright sides but more often than not the school is a disappointing. The administration was lacking until recently and some of teachers are not the best.
I like the size of KHS and how everyone knows each other. They definitely need to hire more teachers who know what they are doing. I struggled with a very difficult teacher last year who would not help me due to him not knowing the material. There are some great teachers there though.
I liked the sense of community, and the teachers who took the extra time to make sure you understand the material they were teaching.
I really enjoyed all the school involvement like clubs and sport activities, but that only constitutes for about half the school's population. That other half of the student body have made it the atmosphere very vile and inappropriate for somewhere like a high school. Over all, my high school experience has been pretty average, luckily I found a good group of friends to make it fun.
The staff are kind and helpful, they make sure every kid feels safe on campus by keeping problems to a minimum and solving them when they appear. Help is always available for kids who are struggling in any aspects academically, socially or emotionally. They are ranked in the top 25 schools in the nation since 2016 and continue to be successful in academics and sports.
I've been a part of this district my whole life, and over all I have been very lucky to have some of the best motivational, supporting and helpful teachers. It's great to have special bonds with the staff and knowing you can count on them for anything; whether its extra help, letters of recommendation, or simply just a person to talk to.
Kingston high school taught me a lot. The academics are pretty good however I would like to see the administration take action. I felt as if none of the students including myself had a voice & were treated poorly when I have proved myself to be a good student. I would like for there to be more effort into making the school a safer & more welcoming place.
The teachers at this school really care about your future and makes you get everything that you need. We have great clubs that give people amazing experience with the community and the chance to make new friends. Our schools ASB does a wonderful job at trying to make the atmosphere at the school positive. One thing that I’d like to see change is the mind set of the students, our ASB tries so hard but students don’t see The point to the activities so I’d like to see there mind set change through maybe different activities.
I graduated Kingston High School in 2013. The school community was very tight knit and everyone was always willing to help out a fellow student whether it be help with an assignment or getting a jump for your car in the parking lot. If I could change something about the school it would be to increase pay to the teachers and staff.
The school is small so the average student knows a larger percentage of the people and it's a fairly small community, so that's nice. Most of the teachers are fantastic. However, the downside of being small is that there aren't as many options for classes or extracurriculars.
