While this is my first year at Kings Valley Charter School, I have enjoyed every part of it. The students and staff are excellent. I feel like everyone is part of the community and they come together to support one another. It's a very community based school. If you need something, everyone seems to pitch in and try and help you out. The academics are different then my other school, Philomath High School, but I still learn many new and cool things. I have class thats all about the history of art through the centuries. I never would have had the option of this class at my other school. I enjoy Kings Valley Charter School, it's been a great experience overall. I'm glad I decided to transfer here, everyone has been very welcoming and accepting of me and my siblings.

I like how it's small and cozy; you can really connect with the other students and teachers. However, this could be good and bad. If I could change something it would be the relationship between some of the students and teachers, because some hold grudges until they graduate, and then further on to the siblings of those they held grudges on.
The teachers vary from having career experience in non-teaching fields requiring masters/PhD, several of them only have associates degrees and others have no degrees at all. Teaching styles for high school were lax and grading was easy. For foreign language, it was mostly all on Rosetta Stone, which is all computerized. Overall the teachers are under qualified and classes are unstructured.

For elementary teachers, they have much more structure and comply to average standards.
