I’m extremely happy to leave this place but 100% the bonds I have made with staff members is what I will miss the most. Most teachers are very willing to help students. That said, many of them are not great at engaging the students in the subject and teaching in general. I enjoy the block scheduling system because you don’t have all your classes every day so you get more time to work on things and get help if you need it. They are ever strict with kids walking around the hallway at all times during the day even if you have a pass. The kids here aren’t super kind and good hearted for the most part, very clique-y and judge-y. Overall it wasn’t a terrible experience and I will miss the people and staff I have made connections with throughout my 4 years here but I would not recommend, there are definitely better schools on the island.
Kings Park is a small town. Each class is pretty small so you become pretty familiar with everyone in your grade. At the High School we do things a little different than other schools such as eighty minute class periods. This means we don't necessarily have every class every day. This gives us two days to do homework. The school teachers are all great, both supportive and nice. The clubs and extracurricular activities, fun and inclusive. Overall, Kings Park High School is a great place.
I had a very fun and memorable experience during my four years at Kings Park High School. I met many life long friends. The teacher’s administration was friendly and I had the ability to become close with my teachers since I did go to a small community high school, classes were not that big. The only thing I wish would change at my High School would be the main administration as far as disciplining students on their maturity.
