The unique pedagogical program implemented at KWS is an amazing approach to educating young students. It, hands down, results in creation of young confident, competent, open-minded critical thinkers at a very young age. As a once skeptical parent who decided to give it a shot starting with their Morning Garden Program roughly 15 years ago, l have nothing but the highest respect for the teaching process at this school.

I watch my very introverted and shy child gradually turn into a very intelligent, highly confident/competent level-headed young adult.

It is very hard to describe what they do in a few words, but I can tell you this. I have learned more about myself watching my 10th grader grow though the Waldorf program. I learned that I have absolutely no worries about my kid’s success when attending a college and choosing a career.

What I realized that whatever path she chooses, it’s not for me to influence; just support with unconditional expectations.

Waldorf works!

Kimberton Waldorf is remarkable for their experiential approach to learning. In an era where many schools are forced to "teach to the test", KWS is more focused on teaching kids to learn how to learn. Some experts predict that many of our kids' careers or industries may not even exist yet. I feel KWS is preparing my kids to learn skills to successfully face a rapidly changing world. In addition to academics, I appreciate the attention to developing skills such as working in small teams and making oral presentations of projects from an early age. As all of us have all the facts literally at our fingertips, I am happy to see my kids have specific, applicable interpersonal experience they can rely on the rest of their lives. The smartest smartphone will never replace that : )
Kimberton Waldorf School educates the whole child. All students take gardening, woodworking, clay and stone sculpting, blacksmithing, orchestra, chorus, Eurythmy (movement art), and "handwork" (i.e. knitting, crocheting, felting, sewing). These disciplines are interwoven with academic studies. Hands-on projects are also a staple of the curriculum. As part of a physics main lesson block, students build catapults and Van de Graff generators; after reading Homer's Odyssey, students actually go on their own journey in the wilderness; when studying history, students make scale models (in my son's case, of a ziggurat and a cathedral). This kind of approach makes the students feel very confident in their abilities.
