Kent-Meridian is a school that does not deserve its negative reputation. One of the most diverse schools in the US, it celebrates each race and culture that the student body and faculty represent. KM also provides many academic routes to its students. Those in 9th-10th grade may enter the Tech Academy, which designs its curriculum to be project-based and more challenging than a core class. The school also offers Running Start and the International Baccalaureate Certificate/Diploma Programme for 11th-12th graders who want to push themselves further and prepare themselves for the college-level experience. For students who are less academically inclined, the school ensures that its teachers are patient and accommodating to each individual.
I attended KM for all four years and was heavily encouraged to participate in sports, clubs, other programs that helped me be a well-rounded student. With Dr. Barringer as its principal and an amazing administration, KM is a great school for everyone!

Kent-Meridian has wonderful staff and coaches. This school provides many great after-school programs to help with all subjects that students struggle with. Teachers at Kent-Meridian are well trained and experienced in their field or subject and are always willing to go out of their way to help students succeed. All the teachers that I had allowed students to come in during lunch or after school to get help and ask questions. Kent-Meridian also offers the Running-Start program which prepares students to transfer to a four-year university. I participated in the Running-Start program and saved a lot of time and money. The counselors at Kent-Meridian are very supportive and great advocates!
Kent-Meridian celebrates diversity and challenges stereotypes. My four years there exposed me to a broad demographic and educated me on what it means to be open-minded. The school's staff consistently works hard to provide a safe environment in which students actually learn. I had a great experience at KM and would highly recommend it!
