As a student at Kennett High School, I can say with certainty that this school is exceptional. The encouraging teachers and principles have outstanding relationships with students, and they will do everything they can in order to ensure their students' success. Kennett High School provides many opportunities to enrich the students' education and experience as high schoolers. The diverse student body is incredibly supportive and creates an environment that allows everyone to fit in. With a wide variety of clubs and classes to chose from, everyone can find something they are passionate about at Kennett High School. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the administration provided an immense amount of support and did everything in their power to create the most positive high school experience for students despite the circumstances. The administration is always coming up with new ideas to improve college readiness, and they reach out to students for their opinions as well.
Kennett High School has a diverse population that is culturally enriching. The teachers are amazing and they deeply care about the school spirit and the students. I have seen this first hand by teachers volunteering their time to be the overseer of clubs because of how much they care about creating a community with a wide range of activities for students to pursue their interests. For me, I have found the greatest joy in the robotics club at KHS as it is a student led club with a lot of learning new skills, problem solving, and communication that mimics the real workplace in many ways. This club has been the most influential to me because everyone on the team cares about the success of the group. When a large group unites like that, amazing things happen, like going to the world level competition! In brief, KHS is a fabulous school with many opportunities to explore your passions, and it also creates a community among students, teachers, and administration that is unique and caring.
Kennett is an all around decent school, while it does provide students with necessary classes, teacher and resources to be sucesful it does a poor job at instructing kids on how to make use of them. It gives many types of opportunities for students to get involved with clubs soprts and extracuricculars and community activities. There are a wide range of clubs where students get the opportunity to have leaderships positions and with these clubs students are able to pursue thier passions. The school did a poor job at helping seniors and juniors understand how to prepare for college. We had very few meetings which were not very helpful, and it was hard to make availabilty with counselors and others to try and get help throught the application processes. The school also implements rules that set students up for failure instead of sucess, and punishes them for unecessary things. Kennett High School also has diversity but it fails to bring different ethnic groups together.
