Kelso High School has been helpful in providing me with the necessary tools to thrive in my education. The Career Center especially provides
I think, overall, that Kelso could improve on getting its teachers all on the same page as to where the seniors should be. By this, I mean that nobody should be expecting everyone to know what they want to do for the rest of their lives and instead be advocating the diverse choices and opportunities (especially for scholarships, internships, and job opportunities) open to them so that students can better find what they enjoy doing more naturally. And if some people do already know what they want to do as a career, then that's great! But it shouldn't become an expectation, as we are still trying to discover ourselves and where we want to go, and I feel like this is something multiple teachers, students, and family alike struggle with.

KHS was a great experience. The staff is friendly and always supportive. There are many clubs and activities to participate in wether you're an artist, into sciences, foreign language, or sports. The counselors there are very knowledgable and helpful in guiding you to graduate on time and about future plans. The diversity of students is extraordinary. After graduation, I felt prepared and happy about my future plans. There exists a running start program for juniors and seniors to participate in and get a step ahead on college. Over all KHS is a great school and I highly recommend it.
I transferred to Kelso my Junior year of High School. I was nervous at first but the students and teachers were all very welcoming and the school is particularly dedicated to assisting us in getting into college. I love that the classes are small and they offer UW classes on campus. Personally, the only thing I’d want to change is the art classes. It was a bit of a let down that not once in my photography class was I taught to use a camera and my current art class is more focused on conformity than creativity.
