Overall my experience at KHS has been quite negative. Every year the atmosphere of the school goes down. Not only, the quality of education is horrendous. If a teacher leaves their position, chances of getting a replacement are extremely low. The new administration is absolutely hideous - no one knows how to address recurring issues or improve any aspect of the school. The majority of teachers quite literally don't care about their jobs; very very few share their passion for their subject with students. As an honors and AP student, who values education and believes in its importance, I have oftentimes found myself in a position of complete discouragement due to my day-to-day experience at school. It seems like everyone, the teachers and the students, are miserable there. Safety? NONE!! Constant vandalism, fights, racism, etc take a toll on everyone's experience there. Better yet, admins do not know (or simply don't want to) address any of the issues.
Keene High School is best described as a developing school. Keene High School has many great teachers who are truly passionate about teaching, however, Keene High School is filled with a lot of teachers who are at best average. Keene High School has many opportunities and is a great school to further anyone's success. Keene High School has also provided students with great computers and free breakfast and lunch. We have been provided with Macbook Airs, however many students are receiving the latest Macbooks. Keene High School is academically growing in several people.
Great teachers who genuinely care about the students, however administration has no regard for the need of the teachers, staff, and students. Sports is going downhill due to all of the funds for sports going to football. The school has no public WiFi, which not only makes it difficult for students, but also teachers who are trying to teach their class. The school also changed the grading system 3 times in the past 4 years and each time they change it gets worse and worse. The teachers and students all just want to have a regular grading system, but administrations take the advise of teachers, parents, and students into no consideration.
