Katy High School was built on a strong history of tradition. Most well known for its football legacy, my school also holds an outstanding academic program, and as an honors student it has truly provided me many opportunities to learn and grow exponentially. I am also a member of the varsity orchestra, and i truly loved the program! One thing I would recommend would be more school wide involvement into the fine arts departments, but otherwise a truly amazing school!

The head boy's basketball coach is a bully who mentally abuses players. He is only the coach bc of who he knows. He's the worst coach ever and has hardly won a game. He'd rather stand there and lose than play who he should. He benches his best players with the excuse that he worked hard as a kid and never got to play. He feels like the best players get everything handed to them. The best are best bc they worked hard to be. When theyre seniors is not the time to play games or take out frustrations stemming from past failures. He talks about kids with other children. Last year he had 2 of the best players in KISD and wouldn't let them play. If your son is sane and talented, don't send him to KHS to play for Danny Russell. He will kill your child's dreams and devestate you the parent and all you invested. All bc hes jealous of anyone who has the skills that he didnt have. This man is a horrible human being and should not be around children.. Don't ruin your athlete's future!
More effort in other extracurriculars besides football, needs slight remodeling, which is soon to be completed. The faculty is friendly and willing to help those who ask. Good memories reside at this school, Go Tigers!
